Kilchoman Maury Cask Matured is a limited Islay single malt, bottled at 50% (100 proof) in a 70cl bottle. It spent its whole maturation in ex-Maury casks rather than receiving a finish. Maury is a sweet fortified wine from Roussillon in southern France, made mainly from Grenache Noir.
The nose carries figs, raisins, dates, salted caramel, orange peel and soft peat smoke. Pipe smoke, dark chocolate, dried fruit, honey, citrus and warming spice show on the palate. The finish is long and gently smoky, with dark fruit, chocolate and citrus peel.
