Kilchoman Sanaig Cask Strength is a 2024 edition from Islay's farm distillery, bottled at 57.8% ABV with no water added, in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill filtered, of natural colour and peated to 50 ppm.
Sanaig is vatted from roughly 70% Oloroso sherry casks and 30% ex-bourbon barrels. Kilchoman was founded in 2005 on Rockside Farm.
The nose offers toffee sweetness, dark fruits, red berries and smoked oak. The palate is intensely sweet, with spiced dark chocolate, raisins, liquorice and warming peat smoke, leading to a long finish of lingering sweetness and spice with smoke woven through.
