This is the second edition of the Kilchoman Sanaig Cask Strength, known as the Dark Batch, following a first edition in 2024. The Islay single malt was bottled in 2026 at 57.5% ABV, undiluted, in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited release with natural colour and no chill-filtration.
It follows the Sanaig cask recipe and matured mainly in Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose combines ripe dark fruit and sweet cinnamon with strong peat smoke. The palate is full and powerful, with cooked stone fruit, warm spice and dark chocolate. The long finish joins sherried fruit sweetness with spicy peat smoke reminiscent of barbecue.
