Kilchoman Sanaig is an Islay single malt bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. It carries no age statement.
The whisky is a sherry-led vatting of roughly 70% Oloroso sherry casks and 30% bourbon casks, made from barley peated to 50 ppm. It is named for the rocky Atlantic inlet just north of the distillery at Rockside Farm.
The nose has heather, raisins, pear and orange peel over stone fruit and peat smoke. The palate brings overripe plums, red cherries and citrus, then barbecue smoke, toffee, oak and dark chocolate. The finish is mouth-coating, with mixed fruit, caramel, cinnamon and clove.
