Kilkerran 12 Year Old is the flagship of the Kilkerran range from Glengyle Distillery in Campbeltown. It is lightly peated, non-chill filtered and of natural colour, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matures in 70% ex-bourbon and 30% ex-sherry casks, giving Campbeltown oiliness, citrus freshness and subtle smoke with warming spice.
The nose brings Turkish delight, pear drops and marzipan, with a hint of peat smoke. On the palate are zesty citrus, lemon cheesecake, peat smoke, leather, pepper and sticky toffee pudding. The finish is campfire embers, peat smoke, pecan pie and butterscotch.
