Kilkerran 12 Years Old (46%)

Kilkerran 12 Years Old is a single malt from Campbeltown, made at Glengyle, a distillery that was rebuilt and restarted in 2004. It sits next to Springbank, shares some of its staff, and distils Kilkerran for only three months of the year. The whisky matured for at least twelve years in 70% bourbon and 30% sherry casks and is bottled at 46% ABV with a light smoky note. It is non-chill-filtered with no added colouring. The nose combines Turkish delight, pear, marzipan, marshmallow and peat smoke. On the palate are citrus, lemon cheesecake, peat smoke, pepper, old book leather and toffee, followed by bonfire smoke, pecan pie and cream caramel in the finish.
