Kilkerran 16 Years is a Campbeltown single malt Scotch whisky from the Glengyle Distillery, which is linked to Springbank, in a 70cl bottle. The Kilkerran name comes from the Gaelic name of the monastic settlement that stood before the town was founded.
It is matured for 16 years in a combination of ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and ex-rum casks.
The nose is marine, with pineapple, lemon meringue and pastry. The palate is complex: liquorice, pineapple, aniseed, black pepper and a little peat with brine. The finish is long, mineral and peaty.
