Kilkerran 8 Year Old Bourbon Cask is a Campbeltown single malt Scotch whisky in a 70cl bottle. Kilkerran is the brand of Glengyle Distillery, one of three working distilleries in Campbeltown, founded in 1872 and revived in 2004.
The whisky is matured entirely in ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at full cask strength, which varies from year to year. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, and is released annually.
The nose offers key lime pie, apple jelly, honey, vanilla and floral notes with light coastal brine. On the palate come banoffee pie, vanilla custard, toffee and cocoa nibs, with an oily, peppery texture, gentle peat and hints of pineapple and coconut. The finish is long and dry, with sea salt, chalky minerality and peat smoke.
