Kilkerran 8 Year Old Cask Strength Sherry Cask is a Campbeltown single malt from Glengyle Distillery, released in early 2023. It was matured entirely in ex-sherry casks and bottled at 57.5% without chill filtration, in a 70cl bottle.
The sherry wood adds dark sweetness and weight to the peated, coastal character of the distillery.
The nose brings toasted marshmallows, peat smoke, dark chocolate, clove and smoked ham. On the palate there is sea salt, candied apples, toffee, sweet peat and burnt candies, and the finish stays with peat and burnt candies.
