Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 11 2024 (70cl, 57.9%)

Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 11 is a limited edition Campbeltown single malt from Glengyle Distillery, released in 2024 and bottled at 57.9% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in 90 per cent bourbon casks and 10 per cent sherry casks, and is non-chill-filtered and without added colour. Glengyle was founded in 1873 by William Mitchell, closed in 1925 and reopened in 2004 by the Mitchells' descendants. The malt comes from the sister distillery, Springbank. The nose is led by citrus, with lemon and key lime pie, toasted rye bread and peat smoke. The palate brings toasted marshmallows and campfire embers with vanilla and custard. The smokiness carries into the finish, with a mineral note.
