Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 11 is a Campbeltown single malt from the Glengyle distillery, released in a small batch at 57.9%. The distillery was revived in 2004.
This is a richly smoked malt. The nose combines fresh-cut grass, red fruit, grapefruit, lemon, molasses and campfire smoke. The palate is rich and textured, with honey, pepper, ginger, marshmallow, dried prunes and grapefruit, and the smoke carries salty, briny notes. The finish is long and warm, with dark chocolate, candied citrus and a touch of astringency.
