Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 12 is a cask strength single malt from Glengyle Distillery in Campbeltown, bottled at 58.4% ABV. Its smoke level is around 45 ppm, well above what is usually associated with Kilkerran.
It was matured mainly in ex-bourbon casks with a smaller share of sherry. Glengyle was re-established in 2004 by Hedley Wright, a descendant of the founders. Intense peat smoke meets a core of sweetness, vanilla, citrus and lightly salted malt.
