Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 12 is a small-batch Campbeltown single malt from Glengyle Distillery, distilled by Mitchells Glengyle Ltd. It is bottled at 58.4% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was matured mostly in bourbon casks, 90%, with the remaining 10% in sherry casks.
The nose opens with creamy butterscotch and caramel, moving to rye bread and tea leaf. The palate is oily and smoky, with Iberico ham and brandy snaps. The finish is gentle but lasting, with lemon sherbet and honeycomb, and peat smoke carried to the end.
