Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 14 is the fourteenth edition of this heavily peated single malt from Glengyle Distillery in Campbeltown. It is bottled at a cask strength of 58.3%, is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
It was matured in roughly 90% bourbon casks and 10% sherry casks.
The nose offers peat smoke, honeycomb and wholemeal toast, with grilled seafood and smoky bacon. The palate is full, with clear peat smoke, lemon biscuits and fresh citrus, ripe melon and a savoury note of smoked ham. The finish is long and smoky, with peat, lemon peel and a gentle sweetness, and a soft, buttery impression.
