This is the fourteenth batch of Kilkerran Heavily Peated, a Campbeltown single malt distilled at Glengyle and bottled at 58.3% in a 70cl bottle. The malt is peated to around 45ppm.
Most of the whisky was matured in ex-bourbon casks, with some sherry-matured stock vatted in alongside.
The nose offers honeycomb, wholemeal toast, chargrilled seafood and smoky bacon. On the palate come smoke, lemon shortbread, ham and melon. The finish is balanced, with peat smoke, lemon zest, icing sugar and a sweet, buttery mouthfeel.
