Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 4 is a single malt from Glengyle Distillery in Campbeltown, bottled at 58.6% ABV. It was made from heavily peated malt at about 84 PPM and matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks. It is unfiltered, with no added colouring, and was released in a limited run.
The nose is typically described as strong peat smoke with vanilla, toffee and lemon peel, over honey, malt and soft fruit. The palate is full and oily, with peat smoke, barbecue charcoal, toffee, pear, cinnamon and salted caramel. The finish is long, smoky and lightly salty, with wood ash, toasted almond and a little citrus.
