Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 9 (70cl, 59.2%)

Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 9 is a heavily peated Campbeltown single malt from Glengyle distillery, bottled at a cask strength of 59.2% in a 70cl bottle without chill filtration. It carries no age statement. The whisky was matured in a mix of 90% bourbon casks and 10% sherry casks. This release marks the point where Heavily Peated moved into the core range, now bottled twice a year under a refreshed label, with the batch number on the back label. The nose brings freshly baked shortbread, cream soda, banana loaf and coconut shavings. The palate is creamy, with vanilla, buttered digestive biscuits and custard creams, and peat smoke runs through it.
