Kilkerran – Heavily Peated Batch No. 7 Single Malt (59.1%)

Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch No. 7 is the seventh batch of the heavily peated release from Kilkerran distillery in Campbeltown. It was matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks and bottled at 59.1% abv, without chill filtration or artificial colouring. On the nose it is fresh, with morning dew, pine forest and damp gooseberry bushes, and a hemp-like vegetal note that develops over time. The palate leads with peat and a sweetness of toasted marshmallows and s'mores, with lemon drizzle cake and shortbread. The finish stays sweetly peaty, with a salty note, burnt pretzels and fresh green apples.
