Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch No. 8 is a single malt Scotch whisky bottled at 58.4% in a 70cl bottle. As the name says, it is a heavily peated expression. The nose opens with citrus, vanilla cheesecake and rhubarb and custard sweets, with delicate peat smoke behind. On the palate there is freshly baked Bramley apple pie and sweet salted caramel. The peat is prolific yet well integrated, and a fresh coastal note recalls a blustery, busy harbour. The finish is long and creamy, with toasted oak and pencil shavings giving way to lasting, sweet, fruity peat smoke.
