Killowen Rum & Raisin is an Irish single malt from the Killowen distillery in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is finished in two kinds of cask: Pedro Ximénez sherry butts and dark rum casks.
The nose offers dark brown sugar, rum-soaked raisins, honeyed dates, toasted oak and vanilla custard. The palate is rich, with molasses sweetness, dried tropical fruits, warm baking spices, dark chocolate and candied orange peel. The finish is long, with lingering rum spice, sweet sherry notes and gentle oak tannins.
