A 40-year-old Lowland single malt from Kinclaith, a lost distillery that operated within the Strathclyde complex and closed in 1975. Signatory Vintage bottled it in its Rare Reserve range at 47.3% ABV. It was distilled on 28 May 1969, matured in a hogshead and bottled on 16 October 2009, giving 217 bottles of 70cl. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The nose combines dark malt and tobacco with kiwi, citrus and aged wood spice. On the palate, buttery sweet yeast bread with plum jam meets dry oak and cardamom. The finish is long, with anise, spicy wood and a smoky, resinous memory of glowing pine cones.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
