A single cask Kinclaith from a Glasgow malt distillery that operated within the Strathclyde complex from 1957 to 1975. It was distilled on 28 May 1969 and matured for 40 years in a hogshead. Signatory Vintage bottled it on 16 October 2009 at its natural cask strength of 47.3%, without added colour. The cask gave 217 bottles in the Rare Reserve range, each numbered by hand. The nose combines dark malt, a touch of tobacco, kiwi, citrus and Bavarian cream, with blackcurrant chews and vanilla pods. The palate is full, with buttered yeast plait, plum jam, dry oak, liquorice and blackberry tart. The long finish brings wood shavings, aniseed and a smoky note of embers from pine cones.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
