Kinnard and Drake Honey Finished Bourbon is a high-rye Indiana bourbon bottled at 46% in a 750ml bottle. The base spirit was distilled by MGP with a 36% rye mashbill, then given a honey finishing step. Kinnard and Drake is a brand of Boone County Jail Distillery, which works from a former jail building in Lebanon, Indiana.
The nose shows honeysuckle, warm honey, cinnamon bark and clove, with vanilla custard and dried apricot. The palate is creamy, with butterscotch sweetness turning to rye spice, then apricot, caramel and a little citrus. The finish is medium in length, with cinnamon, nutmeg and a gentle honeyed warmth.
