Knob Creek 25th Anniversary is a single-barrel Kentucky straight bourbon marking 25 years of the brand, which Booker Noe introduced in 1992. For the 2017 release, his son Fred marked the milestone with around 300 barrels, aged 12 to 13 years.
It is the first Knob Creek bottled at barrel strength, uncut and unfiltered, in a 750ml bottle. Strength varies by barrel, from 60.9 to 62.3% ABV. It was made at the James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont.
Expect vanilla, caramel, smoke, oak and leather on the nose. The palate moves from deep vanilla to dark chocolate, baking spice, apple, tobacco and nuttiness, and the finish is long and warming, with smoky tobacco, cinnamon and dry oak tannins.
