Knob Creek 7 Year Old Rye is a Kentucky rye whiskey made at the Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont. It is bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof) after at least seven years in new charred American oak barrels, from a mash bill with a high proportion of rye.
Black pepper and clove lead the nose, with caramel, dark toffee and toasted oak beneath. On the palate, pepper gives way to caramel, brown sugar and toasted oak, with plum or raisin, maple and nutmeg. The finish is long and warm, with lingering spice, toasted wood and gentle sweetness.
