Knob Creek 9 Year Old is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Jim Beam's Small Batch Collection, bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof) in a 70cl bottle. It was matured for nine years in casks given maximum charring, which draws as much sweetness as possible from the oak. The style is meant to reflect the bourbons that dominated before Prohibition in the USA.
The colour is copper with amber-gold tones. The nose is strong with oak, touches of vanilla and caramel. The palate is rich and sweet, with cask and fruit notes. The finish is long and soft, with oak, vanilla, leather and black pepper.
