This is a nine-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon from Knob Creek, bottled at 50% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is a limited edition marking the 250th anniversary of the USA, and the label carries the Independence Edition design.
It is made in small batches in Kentucky.
The nose brings vanilla bean, toasted oak, caramel, roasted nuts and baking spice. The palate is rich caramel and brown sugar with charred oak, cinnamon, vanilla and dark fruit. The finish is long and warm, with lingering spice, oak and sweet vanilla.
