Knob Creek – 'Fifth Floor Fruit Orchard' Single Barrel Kentucky Rye Whiskey (75cl, 57.5%)

This is a single barrel Kentucky rye whiskey from Knob Creek, bottled at 57.5% ABV (115 proof) in a 75cl bottle. It is one of two rye casks, each named after the floor of the rick house where it matured and the main character of the whiskey. This one aged high in the rick house, which gave it a rich flavour and high proof. It is round and supple, with the ripeness of an orchard set against the spice and baking spices of a rye mash bill. The fruitiness and freshness recall the old Maryland rye style. Poached apricots lead, with a hint of Bing cherry.
