Knob Creek Small Batch is a nine-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon at 50%, in a 750ml bottle. It is aged in level-4 charred new American white oak on the middle floors of the rickhouses.
Booker Noe created it in 1992 as a recreation of the bold, pre-Prohibition style of bourbon he remembered from his grandfather's day. It is blended in small batches from the Jim Beam low-rye mash bill at the James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky.
The nose has toasted nuts, grain, oak, vanilla and caramel. The palate is rich, sweet, woody and full-bodied, almost fruity, and the finish is long and rich.
