Knob Creek Smoked Maple is a flavoured bourbon, introduced in 2013 and bottled at 90 proof, or 45% ABV. Its smoked maple character comes from natural flavouring added as syrup, not from barrel ageing.
Intense maple syrup, smoky hickory and earthy grains show on the nose, with spiced vanilla and caramel behind. Maple sweetness arrives first on the palate, like syrup over vanilla ice cream, followed by toffee, caramel and baking spice. The finish is smooth and sweet, with lingering maple, light smoke and gentle warmth.
