Knob Creek Smoked Maple (75cl, 45%)

Knob Creek Smoked Maple is a flavoured Kentucky bourbon, made by blending natural smoked maple with Knob Creek bourbon. It is bottled at 45% (90 proof) in a 75cl bottle. The bourbon base comes from a mashbill of roughly 75% corn, 13% rye and 12% malted barley. The idea goes back to Booker Noe, creator of Knob Creek, who smoked meats and tapped maple trees on the family property for syrup. It won Gold at the World Whiskies Awards. The nose is smoked hickory and maple wood with earthy grain and a hint of mesquite. Maple sweetness leads the palate before a smoky middle, with vanilla and caramel behind it. The finish is medium and gently sweet, with lingering smoky warmth.
