Koval Single Barrel Rye is a 100% rye whiskey from Koval Distillery in Chicago, made with organic rye grown by a Midwest farmer collective. It is aged in new charred American oak and bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
Each bottle comes from a single barrel, bottled as a heart cut and unfiltered. Koval was founded in 2008 by Robert and Sonat Birnecker and was Chicago's first distillery since Prohibition.
It is described as fresh and light for an all-rye whiskey, with a mapley, candy-corn entry and a kiss of spice on the finish.
