Krug Grande Cuvée 171ème Édition is a non-vintage Champagne at 12% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is the 171st annual re-creation of the cuvée Joseph Krug created when he founded the House in Reims in 1843.
This edition is built around the 2015 harvest and blends 131 wines from 12 vintages, with reserves back to 2000 making up 42% of the blend. The composition is 45% Pinot Noir, 37% Chardonnay and 18% Meunier. It spent around seven years in Krug's cellars before release.
The colour is light golden with fine bubbles. Aromas of flowers, ripe, dried and citrus fruits, marzipan and gingerbread lead to almond paste, quince, lemon and limoncello. The palate is generous yet tightly wound, with a long, refreshing finish.
