Kujira 12 Year Old is a Ryukyu whisky from Okinawa, made as a single-grain spirit from 100% long-grain Indica rice fermented with indigenous black koji. It draws on Okinawa's awamori tradition and is made by Masahiro Distillery, founded in 1883. The spirit was aged for more than 12 years in sherry casks, with no caramel colour added. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. Kujira means whale in Japanese, a symbol of peace and liberty. The nose is dried fig, raisin and honey. The palate brings sherry-soaked fruit, toasted rice, cocoa and gentle spice, and the finish is soft and rounded.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
