L'Arack de Musar (75cl)

L'Arack de Musar is an arak from Lebanon, made from grape alcohol with an average age of five years and sold in a 75cl bottle. Traditional arak is distilled twice, with anise seeds added in the third distillation. This one is distilled four times, and the anise seeds go in during the fourth. It is then aged for one year in terracotta amphorae, which give it a liquorice aroma. It is usually served as a digestif with water added, though it can also be enjoyed without. It is smooth, sweet and easy to drink, and the extra distillation gives a pure, refined arak.
