This is a 9 year old single malt from Deanston, a Highland distillery set in a former cotton mill, bottled by Lady of the Glen at cask strength, 58.5% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It is a single cask, number 301293A, finished in a refill ex-PX octave, and 61 bottles were filled. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered.
The nose is rich with vanilla cream custard, followed by cedar wood and pencil shavings, with honeysuckle, lemon peel and almonds. On the palate, dried banana chips coated in honey build towards candied ginger, nutmeg and cardamom. The finish turns citrusy, with lemon honey shortbread and peppered lime.
