A 41 year old Lowland single malt from Ladyburn, an official bottling from owner William Grant & Sons, released in 2014 at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The outturn was 400 bottles. Ladyburn was a fully automated distillery, built to control the process while keeping traditional methods.
The nose is rich and deep, with linseed, liquorice and leather, and subtle vanilla oak over a malty character. The palate is rich, mouth coating and silky, building to stewed fruits, a green leafiness and antique leather.
The finish is long lasting and slightly dry.
