Lagavulin Offerman Edition: Charred Oak Cask is the third edition made with Nick Offerman, who counts wood, Lagavulin and steak among his great loves. It is an 11 year old single malt Scotch whisky.
It was aged in heavily charred ex-bourbon and ex-red wine casks, and was made with medium-rare steak in mind. Vanilla, red berries, sea salt brine and Lagavulin's smoky character are part of its profile.
The nose is peaty, with chocolate, treacle, red berries and a little creaminess. The palate is pungent, peaty, woody and spicy, with cocoa and sweet berries. The finish is warm, lingering and spicy.
