A 12 year old Lagavulin, the 12th release in the distillery's limited edition series, from 2012. It was bottled by the distillery at 56.1% ABV.
Tasting notes describe a coastal nose of oysters, coal ash, farmyard, earth and seawater, with a briny character that grows when water is added. The palate pairs sweetness and smoke, with lime, salt, cane syrup, tarry smoke and a touch of toffee. The finish is long, sharp and zesty.
