Lagavulin 12 Year Old 2023 Special Release is an Islay single malt bottled at a cask strength of 56.4%, in a 20cl bottle.
It is made from heavily peated malt and matured in coastal warehouses. The 2023 edition leans towards a sharper, more citrus-driven style.
The nose offers crisp smoke, seaweed, lemon zest and warm embers. On the palate come brine, smoked malt, cracked pepper, sharp citrus and a little sweetness. The finish is long, smoky and bracing, with ash, salt and bright lemon.
