Lagavulin – 12 Year Old - 2025 Special Release (20cl) is a single malt whisky from Lagavulin (Islay). Aged 12 years, bottled at 56.5% ABV, 20cl. Lagavulin is said to be one of the oldest distilleries on Islay and is world-renowned for its smoky, peaty whiskies. It is situated on Islay's south coast where legal distilling started in 1816 by John Johnston. The distillery was then moved into the hands of the Mackies who launched White Horse into export markets. White Horse Distillers became part of DCL in 1927 just shortly before the distillery was closed in 1942 for the remainder of WWII. Later, Lagavulin 16 joined the Classic Malts portfolio in 1989 and ever since has been a great success. This special release by Lagavulin Distillery in Islay is a 12-year-old bottling that was bottled in 2025 at a natural cask strength of 56.5% ABV.
