A 12-year-old Lagavulin from Islay, bottled in 2007 as an original distillery bottling in the Special Release series. It matured in refill American oak casks and was bottled at cask strength, 56.4% ABV, without added colour or chill-filtration.
The nose is of strong peat smoke, maritime notes and fresh citrus. On the palate it is smoky and spicy yet balanced, with vanilla, salt and white pepper. The finish is long, dry and intensely smoky.
