Lagavulin 12 Year Old is an Islay single malt from the 2021 Special Releases, subtitled The Lion's Fire. It is bottled at 56.5% in a 70cl bottle. The Special Releases are a limited collection that has appeared each year since 2001. The 2021 selection took its inspiration from Scottish myths and legends, and the lion on the bottle guards what the series calls a jewel of the King of Islay. It is described as a classic Lagavulin, with intensity, saltiness and sweetness in balance while fragrant wood smoke rises and wraps around the flavours.
