The Ink of Legends is the 2023 Special Release from Lagavulin, a 12 year old single malt bottled at a natural cask strength of 56.4%. It comes in a 6cl bottle.
The whisky was finished in casks that previously held Don Julio anejo tequila.
On the nose it is salty and coastal, with olive and smoked olive brine. The palate brings brine, seawater, olives, gherkins and pickled plums, growing more syrupy, and the finish is long and briny.
