Lagavulin 12 Year Old is part of the Diageo Special Releases for 2013, bottled that year at 55.1% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in refill American oak casks.
The nose is nutty, with citrus that recalls lemon iced tea, alongside mossy peat and soot. On the palate it is big but balanced, with cocoa, seaweed and sweet, well-barbecued vegetables. The finish is oily smoke and cocoa.
