This is Lagavulin 16 Year Old, an Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle at 43%. It dates from after 2001, when the sailboat replaced the Royal Warrant at the top of the front label. The 16 year old was first released in the early 1990s and has since become a permanent part of the Lagavulin range. It carries the heavy peat smoke typical of southern Islay, together with richness and dryness. In tasting notes the nose is very smoky and concentrated, with iodine, sweet spices, mature sherry and vanilla. The palate is thick and rich, and the finish is long and spicy.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
