A sixteen-year-old Islay single malt from Lagavulin, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle and matured in bourbon casks. It is a classic of the island, with plenty of peat smoke.
The nose is heavily peated, with seaweed and some sweetness from ripe sherry and creamy vanilla. The palate is full-bodied, salty and sweet, with hawthorn and oak. The finish is long, peaty and salty, with good dryness.
It can be drunk neat or with a few drops of water, which help open it up.
