Lagavulin 16 Year Old is an Islay single malt, distilled on the island's southern coast and aged for 16 years in oak casks. It is full-bodied and intensely peated, in a 750ml bottle.
The nose is deeply smoky, with iodine, seaweed and a rich sweetness underneath. On the palate, dry peat smoke leads, with a gentle sweetness, sea salt and touches of wood. The finish is long and elegant, with peat and brine lingering.
