Lagavulin 16 Years Old is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky, aged in oak casks for at least 16 years. It combines the heavy peat smoke associated with southern Islay with richness and dryness, and it has a deep amber gold colour and a full body.
The nose is intense, with peat smoke, iodine and seaweed over a deep sweetness. On the palate, dry peat smoke comes with a gentle but firm sweetness, then sea salt and touches of wood. The finish is long and peaty, with plenty of salt and seaweed.
