Lagavulin 19 Years Old is an Islay single malt released for Feis Ìle 2019, the island's annual whisky and music festival. It was matured in sherry-treated American oak casks and bottled on 7 March 2019 at 53.8%, in an outturn of 6,000 bottles.
The distillery's smokiness is joined by sweeter notes, spice and wood influence.
The nose brings peat smoke and sea air with dried fruit, sweet malt and warm spices. On the palate, smoke, earthy peat and salty touches meet dried fruit and caramel. The finish is long and warming, with lingering peat smoke, maritime notes and a gently sweet undertone.
